Changes in the global mean air temperature over land since 1980

چکیده
Changes in frequency of record-breaking land surface temperature over Earth's since 1980 are assessed here using six different gridded datasets comprising monthly mean air and weather station data retrieved from Global Historical Climatology Network NOAA Summary the Day. The 2010–2020 decade was warmest history modern measurements for more than one third Earth surface, i.e., Europe, United States, southern Africa, northern Siberia most Australia, according to four datasets. Since 1980, new high/maximum records have been observed parts eastern Asia North America. 2020 year recorded, while 2010 hottest America (≈34% territory). Approximately 60% recorded a maximum annual after 2010. In terms comparison, ERA5 came closest stations regarding ever at various locations Berkeley indicated highest correlations total number events.

Estimating Changes in Global Temperature since the Preindustrial Period
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process agreed in Paris to limit global surface temperature rise to ‘well below 2◦C above pre-industrial levels’. But what period is ‘pre-industrial’? Somewhat remarkably, this is not defined within the UNFCCC’s many agreements and protocols. Nor is it defined in the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) in the evaluation of when...
متن کاملSampling Biases in Datasets of Historical Mean Air Temperature over Land
Global mean surface air temperature (Ta) has been reported to have risen by 0.74°C over the last 100 years. However, the definition of mean Ta is still a subject of debate. The most defensible definition might be the integral of the continuous temperature measurements over a day (Td0). However, for technological and historical reasons, mean Ta over land have been taken to be the average of the ...
متن کاملRegional changes in carbon dioxide fluxes of land and oceans since 1980.
We have applied an inverse model to 20 years of atmospheric carbon dioxide measurements to infer yearly changes in the regional carbon balance of oceans and continents. The model indicates that global terrestrial carbon fluxes were approximately twice as variable as ocean fluxes between 1980 and 1998. Tropical land ecosystems contributed most of the interannual changes in Earth's carbon balance...
متن کاملStatistical Analysis of Relationships between Monthly Maximum Temperatures in Iran and Global Mean Land-Ocean Temperature Anomalies
Global warming and the meaningful relationship between temperature and precipitation changes over different areas of the earth with temperature increment of the earth, are considered as the most important patterns of this century’s climate changes. Today, there is debate over climate change and global temperatures increasing. Damaging effects of this phenomenon on the planet is one of the most ...
متن کاملRegional Contrasts of the Warming Rate over Land Significantly Depend on the Calculation Methods of Mean Air Temperature
Global analyses of surface mean air temperature (T(m)) are key datasets for climate change studies and provide fundamental evidences for global warming. However, the causes of regional contrasts in the warming rate revealed by such datasets, i.e., enhanced warming rates over the northern high latitudes and the "warming hole" over the central U.S., are still under debate. Here we show these regi...
